Fall Pumpkin Succulent Centerpiece

Fall is a great time of year to spend time with your family at an awesome Pumpkin Patch, drink warm coffee, read a great book, eat lots of pumpkin goodies, and to remember how thankful we are!! It is also one of my favorite times of the year to get out my glue gun and get creative. There is something about the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon that brings out my inner crafter…maybe it is the endless possibilities of projects that are available. This Fall has been no different!! Along with the usual projects, we thought we would try something new…Pumpkin Succulent Centerpieces. The best thing about these, besides being super easy and fast, is they are very versatile. The choices are all based on your own preferences…you can use fake succulents and pumpkins or real succulents and pumpkins or even a combination of both. They also make great hostess gifts, especially the real ones!! So easy and unique….

Start out gathering your supplies, these will vary a little based on your own personal preferences:

  • pumpkins (large or small, real or fake)
  • moss
  • succulents (real or fake)
  • spray adhesive
  • glue gun
  • decorative items

The first step is to spray the adhesive on top of the pumpkin and start placing the moss around the stem, this can get a little messy and sticky. If you are using a real pumpkin and real succulents some tutorials show opening the pumpkin and placing the succulents inside using a green planting block. Jessie and I both used fake succulents for our projects, since we both are lacking a green thumb!!

Once the moss is placed securely on your pumpkin, start arranging the succulents using your glue gun. For some of the succulents, I just poked them right into the top of the fake pumpkin, others needed the glue to keep them secure. Add any other decorations you would like to fill the space; flowers, small pumpkins, beads, etc. You might have to move things around to get the look you want. Sometimes it helps to take a step back and look at your project from different angles. Just remember to have fun decorating and making it your own!!

With so many project possibilities it is hard to keep up…between doormats, wreaths, signs, centerpieces, not to mention baking yummy pumpkin goodies. Here are a few of the Fall projects I have been busy working on; a doormat using my handy cricut and a fall themed wreath.

We would love to see your Fall projects, just comment below…Happy Crafting!!
