Home Depot Halloween Style Challenge ~ All Hands on Deck

This post is sponsored by The Home Depot.

So somehow it is that time of year again. Crazy…Right? We are already talking Fall and Holiday Decor. I don’t know about you but, this is absolutely one of my favorite seasons to decorate. Now, Fall I got down…NO problem! Halloween…well that’s a different story.  Just ask my kids, they are not impressed at all with my White Pumpkins! So this year when The Home Depot asked if I would partner with them for the Halloween Style Challenge, I jumped…and I might of screamed for JOY at such an incredible opportunity. Umm…I guess I’m not busy and could do that…LOL! For as long as I can remember my kids have been begging me to have a decked out Halloween decorated yard and this year was the year. I am super excited that I could finally give them the Halloween of their dreams.

Each blogger was given a theme, mine was Pirates. This could not be more fitting for my family! My littlest guy is obsessed with Pirates, everywhere we go he makes Pirate faces at people and tells them to “walk the plank.” I’m pretty sure everyone always thinks we are super weird. That’s alright, I’m just throwing this out there…we are weird and amazing!

The Home Depot has an incredible new line of all sorts of Pirate themed decor for Halloween. I could not even believe all the supplies we could choose from. I wanted this to be such a fun experience not just for me, but mostly for all my kids. We all went shopping together to pick out the products. Of course, I had a design in mind, well even drawn out but my kids had a completely different idea in mind. Isn’t that the way it always works? I’m glad I was given a theme, because I would have been all over the place with my decorations. HD had Witches, Monsters, Inflatables, Skeletons, and so much more. In the end for our products we choose a Pre-Lit Pirate Ship with Skeleton, an Animated Steering Wheel, a Set of 2 Skeleton Pirates and of course none of that would be complete without a Fog Machine.

For this Style Challenge, I also wanted to build something special. I opted for a Pirate Ship, yes you heard me correctly a Pirate Ship. Once I got started I realized I want to make something that could last way longer than just the Halloween Season. So I built a Pirate Ship Outdoor Playground space and will move it to my backyard after the holidays. How you ask??? Now, that’s a problem for future me! 😉 This way my kids can enjoy it all year round.

For the Pirate Ship I used Pressure Treated Deck boards, Pressure Treated 4′ X 4’s, Pressure Treated 2 X 4’s and 1 X 2’s. I also made Cannons out of PVC pipes and plumbing pieces. The whole thing cost under $200.

After the ship was built and all of my products were purchased came my favorite part. Putting it all together and adding all the finishing touches. I firmly believe it’s those final details that really make a space incredible. So here it is, my Home Depot Halloween Style Challenge in all its glory. Ahoy Matey…All Hands on Deck!!!

A special thanks to The Home Depot for inviting me to participate in the 2019 Halloween Style Challenge. I had the most incredible time building, styling and making my kids dream Halloween Yard. I am beyond grateful for this incredible opportunity. To see more on this project head over to The Home Depot Blog. You can also follow along with all my projects by following me on Instagram.
