Let’s Refresh for Spring!!

Can you believe it?? Spring is here…and we all survived another Winter, some of us better then others! 😉 So, let’s finally let Spring into our homes. Nothing is better than opening up those windows and letting the fresh air and light into our homes. This year for Spring, I am trying to keep it light and airy in my decor. Lots of neutrals and greenery everywhere!

Of course, I started with both my fireplace mantels because if you haven’t figured it out by now those are favorite go-to spots to start switching out decor. They normally lead the direction of the rest of the space as well when I have them all finished and decorated. I always start by clearing out all the clutter, actually I normally clear everything completely to get a fresh look in mind. Here is what I come up with…

Entryway…this is a great spot to refresh for Spring! After all it’s normally the first thing that people see when they step into your home! I’m still a big fan of layering mats just like last Fall, so that would be my first refresh for the entryway area. A fresh clean mat that didn’t suffer through all the weather of Winter. Let’s hope bright sunny days are ahead of us! I also, always switch out my front door wreath or decor and add fresh or even faux greenery to my potted areas out front…Yay…Spring!!! Just the thought of fresh plants gets me so excited!! Let’s see how many things I can kill this year!!

The Bedroom is also a great spot to get a refresh!! Open those curtains, maybe even switch out or upgrade to new bedding or even better, fresh new pillows. I was feeling a change so I moved my furniture around…which is something I do often and love to do. It’s a simple way to change things at no cost at all! I made a Spring Scandinavian Wreath for above our bed…which is so simple and beautiful. It adds a nice fresh Spring feeling to the space. I also invested in new bedding…it was time for a change! Once again let’s not tell Greg! 😉 One day he’ll actually read our blog and see that I talk about him, but until then this will teach him…LOL!

For all my centerpieces and other little decorating spaces, I added some eggs for Easter and lots of greenery for filler. Just a little tip, it’s hard to fill all bowls, vases, centerpieces completely so make sure to add something to the bottom to fill it up without having to use your decorating supplies. I use either bubble wrap, the ones with the large bubbles, so it’s clear and you can’t see it even if there is a little gap somewhere. Or I use green flower foam bricks, the ones that you can stick all your stems in. Normally, I use this for my bigger centerpieces, this way it keeps all my stems in place and also fills a lot of empty space.

These spaces really make the whole new look for Spring. It really is all in the details! Someone might not notice all of these things right away, but when they do it normally brings them some kind of joy. Which is always exciting and worth all the effort of changing out seasonal decor!!
