Hey guys, I couldn’t be more excited to partner with The Home Depot Foundation, to help bring more attention to their project Operation Surprise. They are on a mission to make a difference and want to salute the service of our veterans in defending our freedoms by surprising them with life-changing moments and memories. I couldn’t be more honored and grateful to help shine some light on such an amazing program. I love that The Home Depot wants to give back to so many Veterans who have sacrificed so much!
This hits so close to home for me, as my Husband is a Veteran as well as my Father. I know first-hand how much Military men and women have had to sacrifice to help serve their country and how difficult it is to be a spouse and a child of a service member. Those sacrifices are sometimes big and sometimes small but they add up over time. It is so wonderful to see a big company acknowledge these things and do so much to give back.
So, let’s talk about Operation Surprise. The Home Depot Foundation wants to give back to a deserving veteran and help them win a life-changing surprise of $25,000 in home repairs. Umm…Yesssss! Here’s how you can help, Operation Surprise is a contest that anyone can enter, so seriously let’s spread the word. We all know a deserving veteran, a parent, grandparent, friend or coworker in our lives that has served our country and is in need of home repairs. This is your chance to help give back as well!
To nominate a deserving veteran go to HomeDepotFoundation.org and enter the requested information in the form (Name, Contact Info, Info about Veteran). That’s it…super easy! You have now until Veteran’s Day, November 11th to nominate someone. Help tell The Home Depot Foundation who you think should win such an amazing prize! All of the home repairs will be completed by December 31, 2020.
I recently bought our first home and I know for a fact that there are always repairs needed and any extra help would be so incredible. On Veteran’s Day the winner will be announced, let it be someone you love. Join the mission by using #OperationSurprise.
Now, here are a few little fun facts about The Home Depot Foundation! Did you know that over 35,000 of The Home Depot’s associates are veterans? This is one of the main reason I only shop at The Home Depot. I love going into the store and seeing so many Veterans. Not to mention they always seem so happy to be there and are always are so engaged in helping me with my latest project. Seriously, I know them by name and they are always so sweet helping me.
Veterans are such a big part of the company so they understand the importance of honoring and serving those who have served us all. Since 2011, the Foundation has invested more then $300 million in veteran causes and improved more then 43,000 veteran homes and facilities in 4,200 cities. My good friend Wendy at The Curated Farmhouse along with her hubby (also a Veteran) Mike at Timberknot Woodworking got to volunteer alongside Team Depot. Make sure to go check out their post about Operation Surprise and all of the behind the scenes. It was so cool to how many people came out to volunteer and support such a great cause.
Okay…so head over to HomeDepotFoundation.org and nominate your Veteran!!! I know who I’m going to nominate! Help change someones’ life for the better all while helping such a great cause…Giving back is always good stuff!!!
