So, this year my New Year’s resolution is to finish any project I start. I struggle with this constantly, because I always have my next project in mind and just can’t wait to get to move on to the next one. My stairway would be a victim of this crime. I worked so hard on this stairway for so long and if you see it in the all my photos you would never know that it’s really not finished. Now that is a skill, if I say so myself! So, it’s the New Year and that means it’s time to get to work finishing all my unfinished projects.
The last step left for the stairway was the banister and beams. If you look at the bottom picture, I primed them along time ago, before I even started sanding the steps. It was originally a yellow color…Yikes!! Let’s get this bad boy all finished!!!
It’s hard to believe that 2018 is coming to an end. Jen and I launched our blog September 28th and it has been a crazy, amazing, exciting, sometimes overwhelming adventure ever since. Can you believe it has only been 3 months?? We can’t either!! Time has flown by and we have loved bringing to life all our DIY projects and tutorials, renovations, and just sharing our homes with all of you. We have learned a lot in the process and I am sure have lots more to learn…but through all of it the best part has been connecting with our readers and hearing about your projects and hopefully inspiring others to add a little DIY into their lives.
Here are a few of our favorite blog posts so far and a recap of the most popular with the readers over our first 3 months. We hope you have enjoyed ALL we have shared so far. There are lots of ideas floating around in our notebooks for the New Year, so be looking out for those. If you have a great idea for us, we would love to hear about it too. Let’s make 2019 a GREAT Year!!!
Christmas Staging Tips & House Tour
Christmas season is my favorite time to decorate, actually let’s be serious decorating anything anytime is my favorite!! I do love decorating during the Holiday season mostly because the options are endless. Not only are the options endless but, it is perfectly acceptable and even appreciated to GO big. Go BIG…or go home, right??? So come with me on a tour of my home and see all the details I added for this Christmas Season. Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see all my staging tips for the Holidays as well! 🙂
I keep getting lots of requests to come to peoples homes and decorate for them. This week, I decided to bombard my sweet and amazing friend/neighbor Tori’s house. Ready or Not…here I come! Tori has an amazing house with so much potential and like most stories I hear she doesn’t have the time or vision to start the decorating process. Decorating the whole house is very overwhelming. I totally get that!
As first time homeowners, I was so excited to get into this house and really make it my own. It had lots of potential but, required some much needed love!!! In our previous houses, which were normally base housing for the Army, the only thing I could do to make it my own was to paint. Sometimes, I would paint every single wall in the house and others I would pick accent walls to do. All those white walls, would make me crazy. Funny because now in my own home I keep painting everything Bright White!
